Summary:
Homestead Kitchen & Tap is seeking a self-motivated General Manager to oversee all aspects of this venue. This full-time position entails an individual who can direct all employees throughout the restaurant and bar operations, maintain high standards of food and beverages, service, health and safety as well as connect the general public as the face of the establishment. An individual who is hands on and willing to help wherever needed would be a great fit.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years’ experience in a restaurant management position
- Goal-oriented driven individual, demonstrating a record of prior success
- Strong communication and delegation skills
- Ability to remain calm under a fast-paced environment
- Decisive, problem solver and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in staff management and development
Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards
- Ensure alcohol regulations, bar licensing, and bar tax are followed
- Responsible for compiling and preparing for audits and inspections
Employee Management:
- Hire, train and manage all staff (kitchen, waitstaff and bar)
- Schedule for appropriate coverage on a weekly and special event basis
- Create and implement standard operating procedures
- Oversee the preparation of food and beverage items
- Troubleshoot and delegate when any issues arise
Financial:
- Manage scheduling and submit appropriate items for payroll
- Monitor point of sale (POS) system
- Accountable for accurate cash handling
- Awareness and understanding of business finances and metrics
- Help create and manage the budget
Marketing & Strategy:
- Interact with customers and share the farm to table story
- Ensure all inquiries and complaints are handled promptly
- Modify the menu as needed
- Analyse food and beverages to decide menu pricing
- Generate ideas for advertising and events while staying community and charity focused
Miscellaneous:
- Keep inventory and order supplies, food and beverages as needed
- Opens and locks up the restaurant; coordinating with vendors, suppliers and additional resources (cleaning staff)
- Oversee equipment maintenance and replacements
Work Relationships:
Supervised by Business Development Manager. Manages kitchen staff, waitstaff and bar staff. Works closely and maintains communication with the Ebert Family and Human Resource Manager.
Work Schedule: Restaurant open hours four days a week (Thur-Sun), additional hours during the week as needed.
